Broken Egg

This is my first ever album. I am really not proud of it, but I feel obligated to put it here for the sake of showing my progression as an artist.

This was the first song created on this album, which, coincidentally, is also the first track. The entirety of this track is based on a simple chord progression that I got from some random chord progression generator. As for the title "Poket", it is a deliberate misspelling of "Pocket". Why? Don't know. Most of these titles don't relate to anything.

Notice how realistic the drums on this song are? That's because it is a sample I shamelessly stole from looperman. Also, while creating this song, the software I was creating it on crashed, and I could not recover the autosave file because the demo version would not allow me to. That's when I turned to the dark side. I will not elaborate further.

My original vision for this song was to make it sound similar to "Superfast Jellyfish" by Gorillaz, so I did my best with the tools and knowledge I had. But when I played it for my friend, they said it sounded like a Roblox channel intro, so I don't think I succeeded.

The chorus of this song was originally part of an unfinished song. It was created it with demo version of FL Studio, which didn’t allow me to save the project file. All I had was the MP3 of it, so I tacked on everything else around it.

I think this track actually sounds pretty alright. It could use some more melodic content though, especially in the verses. This song was originally planned to have a music video, but it was way too ambitious for my skill set.

There are a whopping three versions of this song. The first one was made right after Poket and was titled "ChimeTimez", the second is a demo, and the third one is on the album. I could only find the two most recent versions. The ending of this song was meant to be a transition into the next album, but that never came to be.

I left this song off the album for two reasons. First, I felt guilt for stealing the chord progression from another song, even though it's just C and F. Second, I played this in the school's Discord voice chat, and one of my classmates laughed the moment it played.

Originally, this was a joke song where the first half was a horrible cacophony of noise, and the second half was part of this track. The name of said song was "When You Pee Your Pants But Your Pants Are Yellow".
