Broken Egg + Outtakes (2/1/2020)
This is my first ever album. It contains 11 absolutely awesome songs! That was sarcasm. I guess looking back the songs weren't too bad, but most of them are extremely repetitive, have way too much instruments, are not mixed too well, or do not contain much melodic content. Click on the track names to expand & read up on the details of each song. Or not.
Tracklist
Key: A minor
BPM: 160
Date Finished: 11/23/18
This was the first ever song created on this album. I generated the chord progression from some website and just slathered as much presets from Cytrus and other stock FL Studio synths over it. This song is called Poket because it is a deliberate misspelling of Pocket. Why? Don't know. Featured on Open Source Objects.
Key: F major
BPM: 116
Date Finished: Unknown
Yet another song that doesn't actually have a real melody (Besides the bridge). The drums in this song are a sample I stole off of looperman, so that explains why they sound so jarringly realistic compared to the other drum beats in this album. When creating this song, I was using the demo version of FL Studio and it decided to crash and I got really mad that I lost all my work that I cried for a while. Then I remembered that FL Studio autosaves. That's when I turned to the dark side. I will not elaborate. This song also samples the Roblox bloxy cola drinking sound for some reason. Originally intended to have a music video.
Key: C major
BPM: 155
Date Finished: Unknown
A middle school friend told me this song sounds like a Roblox channel intro. Featured on Open Source Objects.
Key: E major
BPM: 122
Date Finished: Unknown
The chorus sounds completely different from the "verses" because the chorus was actually a song I never finished because I was using the demo version and could not recover it. I only had the mp3 and I tacked on everything else. I actually really like how the chorus sounds. I might repurpose it sometime.
Key: G major
BPM: 120
Date Finished: Unknown
Easily the worst & laziest song on this album.
Key: G major
BPM: 126
Date Finished: Unknown
A decent song. Samples that one sound effect of children cheering for some reason. I have no idea why I threw that in there because I really hate that sound effect.
Key: F Major
BPM: 130
Date Finished: 6/16/19
I intended a music video for this song, but it was too ambitious.
Key: C# Major
BPM: 140
Date Finished: Unknown
The best song on the album (Chime Time might be better, but I can't decide). It has an actual melody and sounds pretty alright. The title of this song is supposed to be "Theremin House" but I made a typo, so I guess it is "Thermin House" from now on. I might remaster this song.
Key: G Major
BPM: 110
Date Finished: Unknown
The thing that really bugs me about this song is that I put absolutely no bass in it.
Key: C Major
BPM: 95
Date Finished: Unknown
A pretty alright song. I don't have much else to say as I have absolutely no recollection of creating this.
Key: C Major
BPM: 128
Date Finished: Unknown
This song was the second song I made for the album after Poket. Not this version but the demo version. The synth on the verses are meant to imitate an otamatone that I designed myself in Harmor. The weird riser that appears at the end of the song was meant to be a kind of transition from this album to the next album I would make. Featured on Open Source Objects.
Key: C Major
BPM: 130
Date Finished: Unknown
I took this song out because I felt guilty that I stole the chord progression from another song I don't remember despite the fact that it is literally just C & F. FFH doesn't stand for anything, it was just a random keyspam. Intended to be placed between track 3 and Genetic Lottery.
Key: C Major
BPM: 130
Date Finished: 8/18/19
I took this song out for an unknown reason. Intended to be placed between FFH and track 4.
Key: A Minor
BPM: 130
Date Finished: Unknown
I really liked this song at the time but I took it out because the butchered metal section at the end was too jarring for the album I guess. Intended to be placed between tracks 6 & 7.
Key: G# Major
BPM: 104
Date Finished: 8/14/19
I took this song out of the album because I felt it was too short. Intended to be placed between tracks 9 & 10.
